The Diocese of Ełk ( lat. : Dioecesis Liccanensis , Polish. : Diecezja Ełcka ) is one in Poland situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Elk ( German Elk ).

history

The Diocese of Ełk was established on March 25, 1992 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus from cedings of the Archdiocese of Warmia and the Diocese of Łomża . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Warmia as a suffragan .
