The Roman Catholic Diocese of Włocławek (also diocese Wloclawek ; lat. : Dioecesis Vladislaviensis , Polish. : Diecezja Włocławska ) is one in Poland situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Wloclawek ( German Wloclawek ).

The Diocese of Włocławek ( Diocese of Leslau ) was established in 996. In the year 1000 it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Gniezno as a suffragan . From the 12th century, the diocese was named Kujawien and Pomerania .

On August 16, 1569, the seminary of the diocese of Kuyavian and Pomerania was founded. The diocese of Kujawien and Pomerania was renamed on June 30, 1818 by Pope Pius VII with the papal bull Ex imposita nobis in the diocese of Kujawien-Kalisz and subordinated to the archbishopric of Warsaw as a suffragan. The bishopric was Kalisz .

The diocese Kujawien-Kalisz was on October 28, 1925 by Pope Pius XI. renamed with the Papal Bull Vixdum Poloniae unitas in the Diocese of Włocławek and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Gniezno as a suffragan. The bishopric was moved from Kalisz to Włocławek. Following the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus issued by Pope John Paul II , the diocese of Włocławek gave up parts of its territory on March 25, 1992 to establish the diocese of Kalisz .

In 2004 the Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń in Licheń Stary was consecrated .
