The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kielce ( lat. : Dioecesis Kielcensis , Polish. : Diecezja Kielecka ) is one in Poland situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kielce .

history

The diocese of Kielce was established on June 13, 1805 by Pope Pius VII with the papal bull Indefensum personarum from cedings of the archdiocese of Gniezno and the dioceses of Krakow and Chełm . On June 18, 1818, the Kielce diocese was dissolved. From the territory was Pius VII. With the Pontifical Bull Ex imposita nobis the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sandomierz built.

On December 28, 1882 the diocese of Kielce was by Pope Leo XIII. re-established with the papal bull Ut primum Catholicae Ecclesiae . The Diocese of Kielce gave on October 28, 1925 parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Częstochowa . At the same time, the diocese of Kielce was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Krakow as a suffragan . Following the Apostolic Constitution Totus tuus Poloniae populus issued by Pope John Paul II , the Diocese of Kielce gave up parts of its territory on March 25, 1992 to establish the Diocese of Sosnowiec .
