The Diocese of Swidnica ( lat. : Dioecesis Suidniciensis , Polish. : Diecezja Świdnicka ) is one in Poland situated Roman Catholic Diocese with headquarters in Świdnica ( German Schweidnitz ).

history

The Diocese of Świdnica was established on February 24, 2004 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Multos fructus spiritales from territorial cessions of the Archdiocese of Wroclaw and the Diocese of Legnica and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Wroclaw as a suffragan diocese.

The first bishop was Ignacy Dec until March 2020 , he is succeeded by Marek Mendyk .

Auxiliary Bishop has been Adam Bałabuch , Titular Bishop of Aurusuliana , since March 19, 2008 .
