history

The diocese of Rzeszów was established on March 25, 1992 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus from territories of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl and the Diocese of Tarnów , stretches from Gorlice and Nowy Żmigród in the south and Kolbuszowa and Sokołów Małopolski in the north and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Przemyśl as a suffragan .

First Bishop was Kazimierz Górny .
