The Roman Catholic Diocese of Legnica ( lat. Dioecesis Legnicensis , Polish. Diecezja Legnicka ) is one in Poland situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Legnica ( German Legnica ).

history

The diocese of Legnica was established on March 25, 1992 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Totus tuus Poloniae populus from ceded territory of the Archdiocese of Wroclaw and subordinated to this as a suffragan diocese. On February 24, 2004, the Legnica diocese gave up parts of its territory to establish the Świdnica diocese .
