Zbigniew Kiernikowski (born July 2, 1946 in Szamarzewo , Powiat Wrzesiński , Poland ) is Bishop of Liegnitz .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Gniezno , Jan Czerniak , ordained him on June 6, 1971 as a priest . From 1987 to 2002 he was the rain of the Pontifical Polish College . In 1983 he was at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome with an assisted by Fritzleo Lentzen-Deis thesis on the theology of Colossians for doctor of theology in specialist biblical criticism doctorate . In 1989 he was elected chairman of Evangelium und Kultur eV , an international association of biblical scholars .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Siedlce on March 28, 2002 . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano on May 20 of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co- consecrators were Henryk Muszyński , Archbishop of Gniezno , and Jan Mazur , Bishop Emeritus of Siedlce. His motto is Posłuszeństwo Ewangelii-Eucharystia .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Liegnitz on April 15, 2014 .
