history
The diocese of Sosnowiec was established on March 25, 1992 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus from territories of the archbishopric of Częstochowa and Krakow and the diocese of Kielce and subordinated to the archbishopric of Częstochowa as a suffragandiocese .
