Piotr Skucha (born June 27, 1946 in Łaganów , Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland ) is auxiliary bishop in Sosnowiec .

Life

Piotr Skucha wrote in 1964 to the seminary of Kielce one. The Bishop of Kielce, Jan Jaroszewicz , ordained him a priest on June 14, 1970 . After a year as a parish priest, he continued his studies until 1979. In 1984 he became secretary of the Commission for Education within the Polish Bishops' Conference .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Segisama and auxiliary bishop in Kielce on December 18, 1986 . He was ordained bishop by the Polish primate , Józef Cardinal Glemp on February 15, 1987; Co- consecrators were Stanisław Szymecki , Bishop of Kielce, and Edward Materski , Bishop of Sandomierz . As a motto , he chose Verbum Crucis - Virtus Dei . During his tenure he was also the editor of the magazine Współczesnej ambony . On March 25, 1992, John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Sosnowiec. In the same year he was also appointed vicar general of the diocese. After the death of Bishop Adam Śmigielski on October 7th, 2008, he was Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Sosnowiec until Pope Benedict XVI. on February 4, 2009 Grzegorz Kaszak appointed his successor.

Piotr Skucha also gives regular lectures at the University of Sosnowiec, the seminary of Kielce and the Pontifical Ignatianum Academy in Krakow .

Piotr Skucha is involved in numerous projects in the Holy Land . He is Grand Officer of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
