Kolbuszowa is a town in the Kolbuszowski powiat of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the Powiat and the town-and-country municipality of the same name with around 24,800 inhabitants.

history
The village of Weryni , which probably already existed in the 15th century, may also belong to today's Kolbuszowa . The first written mention of Weryni comes from 1504, the first mention of Kolbuszowa from 1508. It is not known when the town charter was granted . In a certificate from Johann III. Sobieski from June 13th 1690 the place is mentioned as a town. The certificate allows the place to hold five annual markets . When Poland was first partitioned in 1772, the city became part of Austria .

In 1773, 186 families lived in the city, 91 of them were Jewish. In 1784 the city had 1,163 inhabitants.
