Geographical location
Kazimierza Wielka is located on the Nidzica in the southern part of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in the Jędrzejów ( Płaskowyż Jędrzejowski ) plateau , part of the Nida lowlands ( Niecka Nidziańska ).
climate
The warmest month is July with an average temperature of 18 ° C. The coldest is January with an average temperature of −3 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 550 to 650 mm.
history
The first written mention of today's Kazimierza Wielka comes from the year 1320. During the Third Partition of Poland , the place came to the Austrian West Galicia , before it became part of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1809 . With its end in 1815, the place became part of the newly formed Russian Congress Poland . In 1845 a sugar factory was built. After the First World War , the place became part of the re-established Poland in 1919 . In September 1939, like all of Poland, the place was occupied by the German Wehrmacht . After the end of the Second World War , Kazimierza Wielka became the seat of a municipality. In 1956 the place became the seat of a powiat and three years later it received city rights .

The urban-and-rural municipality of Kazimierza Wielka has an area of 120.6 km², on which about 16,000 people live. The population fell from 18,050 in 2002 to 16,637 in 2008.

The municipality has a 375-kilometer network of roads, of which 29 kilometers are voivodeship roads ( drogi wojewódzkie ) and 94 kilometers are district roads ( drogi powiatowe ).
education
In 2005 the city had a kindergarten and a middle school ( gimnazjum ). There is also a middle school in the rural area of the municipality and ten primary schools.
