Darren, Pat and Mickey take care of the import of ecstasy from the Netherlands , while Pat with Tony Tucker and his followers, etc. a. Craig Rolfe to take over drug dealing in the Essex clubs . At first everything works smoothly. But one evening Pat beats up his wife Kate and throws her out of the apartment. When she and a friend of hers have their things removed from their shared apartment, Pat incites his thugs at the innocent citizen. They force the man to use coke and torture him for hours. Fearful, Kate turns to Mickey, who takes her in.

Shortly thereafter, an 18-year-old died of an ecstasy overdose. The club owners complain to the dealers about the publicity. Pat blames Mickey for importing substandard goods. Mickey has long since realized that Pat wants to kill him. When he finally hears strange rumors about Kate, he tells Darren and Jack. The three are preparing for a murder. Meanwhile, Pat, Craig and Tony are also planning an attack on the other crew in order to take over the drug trade. As a pretext, Mickey lures the other crew to a remote airfield where Jack is waiting for them. Together they shoot Pat, Tony and Craig. Darren drives the getaway car.

The next day, Mickey urges Darren to dig deeper into the business. After consulting his manager, Darren reluctantly agrees. In a drug deal, Mickey, Jack and Darren are intercepted and arrested by the police. Darren claims to be a spy, but he finds that his boss has also been arrested and cannot confirm his identity. He finally testifies as a key witness and is included in the witness protection program. Constant nightmares have plagued him ever since. Mickey and Jack were sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

background

Like Gangsters - The Essex Boys and Footsoldier ( Rise of the Footsoldier ), Footsoldier 2 also addresses a drug murder in the small town of Rettendon , which occurred on December 6, 1995 . In Rise of the Footsoldier , the murder was the climax and conclusion of the film. Terry Stone , one of the main characters in the film, has been asked about this murder several times. After the novel Bonded by Blood by Bernard O'Mahoney had read, he decided to make a film about the murder to produce. With Sacha Bennett is a director found. The budget was about $ 4 million.

Parts of the story have been changed. So the main culprits are not secured. Mickey Steele and Jack Whomes were convicted of the murder, but Darren Nicholls' statements were not really credible. Bernard O'Mahoney doesn't believe in Mickey Steele's guilt. This was mentioned separately in the credits.

The film premiered at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema . Actor Danny Dyer was among those present .

The German distribution company Ascot Elite erroneously advertised the film as a sequel to Foodsoldier . However, this film is not a sequel, but a remake that simply partly includes the same actors for the same roles. Neil Maskell, however, who played the role of Darren Nicholls in Rise of the Footsoldier , embodies the role of Craig Rolfe in this film, with Darren Nicholls being directed by Adam Deacon in this film. Such a radical change in cast is not common on a sequel. The story is not reflected in the plot either as a prequel or a sequel . In addition, the film Bonded by Blood 2 was released in 2017 .
