Russell Earl

Russell William Earl (born before 1992 ) is a special effects artist who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2008 and 2010 .

Life

He grew up in Westford , Massachusetts . He then studied industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence , Rhode Island . During his studies, he did an internship in Los Angeles at the film studio Video Image , which later became VIFX . After graduation, he worked at Berkshire Ridefilm on films such as In Search of the Obelisk .

In 1994 he switched to Industrial Light & Magic , where he initially worked as a digital effects artist and later worked as a VFX supervisor . He has been involved in films such as Deep Impact , Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and Mission: Impossible III . In 2008 he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects along with Scott Farrar , Scott Benza and John Frazier for his work on Transformers . He received his second nomination in 2010 for Star Trek in the same category.

He is married and has two daughters.
