Gordon Sim
Gordon Sim is an American art director and production designer who won an Oscar for best production design and was nominated again for an Oscar in this category.
Life
Sim began his career as an art director and production designer in the Hollywood film industry in 1983 in films such as Curtains - Wahn ohne Ende and Dr. Yes: Hyannis Affair and has worked on the scenic equipment of almost forty films to date.
At the 2003 Academy Awards , he and John Myhre won the Oscar for best production design in the musical film Chicago (2002) by Rob Marshall with Renée Zellweger , Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere in the leading roles .
In 2010 he and Myhre received an Oscar nomination in this category for the musical love film Nine (2009) with Daniel Day-Lewis , Marion Cotillard and Sophia Loren, also directed by Rob Marshall .
Sim is currently working on the scenery for the television series Copper , which will be broadcast in 2012.
