Curtains - delusion without end ( Curtains ... The ultimate Nightmare ) is a horror film by Canadian director Richard Ciupka from the year 1983rd

action

The shooting of the new film by the famous director Jonathan Stryker will start shortly. His favorite actress Samantha Sherwood is slated for the lead role. So that Samantha can put herself in the role of the insane Audra, she is supposed to spend a few days in a mental hospital. Samantha is smuggled there through a fake fit and has to wait until Stryker takes her out again.

However, this one has something else in mind. When he sees that Samantha is too old for the role of Audra, he lets her stew in the institution and instead invites six young girls to his villa in the mountains. But when the first girl doesn't come to the rehearsal, the others start to get scary. Suddenly Samantha shows up, who has fled the institution and now wants to audition for the role again. Is she to blame for the girl's disappearance? A snow storm prevents anyone from leaving the villa.

The next morning when one of the girls tried to skate on a frozen lake, she found a creepy doll with black eyes in the snow. She doesn't have long to live, because the killer is already on her heels and comes towards her with ice skates and a sickle.

While Samantha and Stryker start a mud fight in the villa, the girls notice that something is wrong here. When night falls, the horror really begins. Stryker forces the girls to have sex and promises them the role of Audra, while the killer slaughters his way through the whole group. One of the girls escapes into a movie props hall behind the house, but cannot escape the killer.

During an argument in the kitchen between Samantha and one of the girls, the terrible truth is revealed. Samantha shot Stryker while the other girls murdered one by one.

criticism

"Speculative psychological thriller with an easily understandable plot."

"CURTAINS plays quite intelligently with appearance and reality, offers a few false floors, and a murder scene on a frozen lake is so excitingly staged that it still gives goose bumps today."

“Some scenes really have what it takes to be classics. For example, you can look forward to a slow-motion scene with a scythe on a frozen lake. "
