Erik Aadahl
Erik Aadahl (born September 16, 1976 in San Francisco , California ) is an American sound engineer who was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 and 2013 .
Life
Aadahl was born to Scandinavian immigrants and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area .
In 2000 Aadahl was hired for the sound effects for the comedy film Last Exit Hollywood . This was followed by work on the sound for the films The Last Fortress , Daredevil , X-Men 2 , Fantastic Four , Operation Walküre - The Stauffenberg Assassination , as well as for the animated films Kung Fu Panda and its sequel , Megamind , Monsters vs. Aliens and Shrek forever . Michael Bay engaged Aadahl for the three feature films for Hasbro's Transformers . For the third part of the series, Aaadahl received his first nomination at the Oscars in 2012 together with Ethan Van der Ryn . The following year both were nominated again in the category of best sound editing for Argo .
