Hank Corwin

Hank Corwin is an award-winning American film editor who has been responsible for editing major cinema productions such as Natural Born Killers , The Horse Whisperer , The Legend of Bagger Vance , The Tree of Life and The Big Short in his 20-year career .

life and career

Corwin began his career as an editor in the mid-1990s, working for director Oliver Stone . He edited the films Natural Born Killers , Nixon and U-Turn - No way back . In 1998 Robert Redford engaged him for his literary film adaptation of Nicholas Evans' bestseller The Horse Whisperer . A year later he directed Scott Hicks drama Snow Falling on Cedars, starring Ethan Hawke and Max von Sydow . In 2000 he worked again for Redford on his golfer biography The Legend of Bagger Vance with Will Smith . In 2005 the director Terrence Malick hired him for his picture epic The New World . In 2011 he worked again for Malick's production The Tree of Life . For director Adam McKay , he received his first Oscar nomination in the category Best Editing at the 2016 awards ceremony for The Big Short .

Occasionally, Hank Corwin is also active as an editor for short films and television, including the short films Undone and Making a Scene as well as the TV series Luck .
