action

Teenage boy Miles Morales tries to meet the expectations of his father, police officer Jefferson Davis. Miles goes to boarding school but sneaks out later that evening and goes to see his uncle, Aaron Davis. When he takes Miles to an abandoned subway station to add graffiti to it, Miles is bitten by a radioactive spider and gains spider-like skills.

Miles returns to the station to search for the spider and discovers a particle accelerator that Kingpin built to access parallel universes. As you learn later, Kingpin tries to use this machine to regain his family, which he believes he lost to Spider-Man. Miles witnesses a fight between Spider-Man trying to disable the collider and Kingpin's enforcers Green Goblin and Prowler.

Spider-Man notices Miles and tries to remove him from the battle. In doing so, he realizes that the student, like himself, has spider powers and makes him promise to return and train his powers. As the battle continues, Green Goblin Spider-Man hits the particle accelerator, causing an explosion that almost kills it. Wounded, Spider-Man gives Miles a USB stick that can be used to turn the particle accelerator into an unusable state. He also tells the boy that the machine could destroy the city if it is reactivated. Miles horrified as Kingpin kills Spider-Man before fleeing from Prowler.

Miles tries his newfound skills in a purchased Spider-Man costume, but falls off a building and damages the USB stick. At Spider-Man's grave, Miles meets Peter B. Parker, an older version of Spider-Man from another dimension. While meeting Peter, Miles accidentally discovers an ability to emit a bioelectrical poison to incapacitate his victim. Peter reluctantly agrees to train Miles in exchange to help steal data in order to create a new USB stick. At Fisk's research facility, Miles discovers that he also has the power to become invisible. You are confronted with the scientist Olivia Octavius, who takes Peter DNA samples and reveals that he will die soon due to cell decay if he lingers longer in her dimension.

Miles and Peter are saved by Gwen Stacy, Spider-Woman from another dimension, while fighting Olivia Octavius and her henchmen. The group finds Peter's aunt, May Parker, who protects more heroes from other dimensions. The heroes are Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham and Peni Parker. Due to their origin from foreign parallel universes, they suffer from seizures just like Peter B. Parker. Miles offers to disable the particle accelerator so that the others can return home, but the heroes believe that he lacks the necessary experience for the task. Miles retires to Aaron's home, where he finds out that Aaron is the Prowler. He returns to May's house. However, Kingpin, Prowler, Octavius, Scorpion and Tombstone followed him unnoticed, leading to a confrontation. Miles flees, but is captured by Aaron and exposed. Aaron doesn't want to kill Miles and is therefore shot by Fisk. Miles flees with Aaron, but Aaron dies of his injuries. Jefferson sees Miles grieving over Aaron and concludes that Spider-Man killed him.

The heroes gather with Miles in his dorm. Peter ties Miles to a chair for his own protection, to prevent Miles from making his way to the particle accelerator. He decides to sacrifice himself by staying behind and deactivating the "collider". Jefferson steps up to Miles' door shortly afterwards and apologizes for his mistakes. Miles manages to control his powers and goes to Aunt May, where he receives various items of equipment and repaints Peter's suit. He joins the heroes and helps them defeat Kingpin's enforcers before using the USB stick to send them home. Kingpin and Miles fight throughout the Collider and get Jefferson's attention. When Miles is almost killed, Jefferson realizes that Spider-Man is not the enemy. Miles paralyzes Kingpin with his poison shock and then destroys the particle accelerator. Kingpin and his enforcers are arrested, and Jefferson recognizes Spider-Man as a hero. Miles takes responsibility for his new life. Back in their home dimensions, the heroes return to their lives. Peter prepares to renew his relationship with Mary Jane, Spider-Noir eventually solves a Rubik's Cube he's struggling with in the alternate timeline, Peni fixes her robot, Spider-Ham enjoys a hot dog, and Gwen finds one Way to contact Miles across dimensions.
