Avi Arad (* 1948 in Ramat Gan , Israel ) is an American film producer .

In the 1990s, Arad was together with Isaac Perlmutter Managing Director of the company Toy Biz , which later Marvel Comics took over and from the threat of bankruptcy saved.

Arad appeared in a supporting role in the film X-Men (2000).

Arad was CEO of Marvel Studios and from 2003 reorganized the company so that it could operate as a film studio instead of as a licensor. The first own production, Iron Man , came onto the market in 2008. Arad, however, had to leave the studio in May 2006 after a dispute about the future course with Marvel Studios COO David Maisel and Perlmutter, the head of the parent company.

Arad has produced nearly 20 television series and video productions from the Marvel universe since 1992.
