Golden Tomato Awards
With the Golden Tomato Awards , the American critic website Rotten Tomatoes has honored the best-reviewed films and series of the previous year since 1999 . This is taken from the reviews that were published on the site up to the last day of the year and are displayed by the so-called "tomatometer".
The king categories are "Best Wide Release", "Best Limited Release", "Best Movie United Kingdom", "Best Movie Australia", "Best New TV Show" and "Best Returning TV Show". In addition, golden tomatoes are awarded in the respective genres of the films and series. The rating of series has only been part of the Golden Tomato Awards since 2013.
Only films that have not been shown in more than 600 cinemas can participate in the “Best Limited Release” category. The same applies to the “Best Foreign Language Movie” category; only films that are not shown in English may participate here.
