action

Thomas will soon be 16 years old and has just moved to a new city with his family. His father Simon is a soldier, his mother Maggie is heavily pregnant and his older brother Charlie is the focus of family affairs due to his autistic disease. Charlie doesn't speak and is hyperactive. Not an easy situation for an adolescent. With the move, Thomas is moving to a new school. The lifeguard lessons give him the greatest difficulty. Here he quickly becomes an outsider due to his lack of swimming ability.

Thomas falls in love with the beautiful Jackie of all people, who is also an excellent swimmer. When his brother Charlie runs away from home, Thomas follows him through the neighborhood. Charlie breaks into Jackie's house of all people and uses her toilet. Thomas follows him all the way and has to realize that Jackie is standing naked in the shower in the same room. Through this faux pas, the two youngsters are slowly getting closer. A romantic love story develops, which is repeatedly disturbed by the activities of Thomas' family. But the more touchingly Thomas takes care of Charlie, the stronger the bond with Jackie becomes.

Reviews

“The cautious camera, which is almost always at eye level with the protagonists, stays close to the characters and lets the viewer feel real sympathy. The film takes the viewer on a journey and only lets go of them at the end of the credits. "
