Veronika Jenet

Veronika Jenet , also Veronika Hausler (born before 1980 in Niederkirchen ), is a German - Australian film editor .

Life

Veronika Jenet was born in Niederkirchen, a district of St. Wendel in Saarland, and went to secondary school there. She then completed an apprenticeship as a hairdresser. After the marriage, she emigrated to Australia with her husband, from whom she also took the surname Hausler (by whom she is sometimes referred to in film credits). Her parents still live in St. Wendel-Niederkirchen today.

Jenet began working as a film editor in the 1980s. When Sweetie (1989) she first worked with director Jane Campion together. Four other joint productions have followed so far. The best-known film from this collaboration is Das Piano (1993), for which Jenet was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1994. She also received a nomination for the BAFTA Film Award and won an AFI Award.

In her further career she received the AFI Award two more times and won the IF Award three times.

Jenet is a member of the Australian Screen Editors .
