Kimiko Glenn
Kimiko Elizabeth Glenn (born June 27, 1989 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American actress , best known for the role of Brook Soso from the series Orange Is the New Black , which she played between 2014 and 2017.
Personal
Kimiko Glenn was born in Phoenix, Arizona, as one of two daughters to father Mark, who has German, Irish and Scottish roots, and mother Sumiko, who is Japanese. Her acting career began in Phoenix, where she performed at the Valley Youth Theater from the fifth grade onwards .
She attended Desert Vista High School, then from 17 then the boarding school of the Interlochen Center for the Arts in the US state of Michigan. She was later part of the Boston Conservatory, but left it at the age of 19 after she got a role in the musical Spring Awakening .
Career
After appearing in adaptations of plays such as Lost Loves Labor by William Shakespeare or Freckleface Strawberry , a children's book by actress Julianne Moore , she took on her first role in front of the camera in 2010 in an episode of the series Submissions Only . After a few film and short film appearances, she first appeared in the role of Brook Soso in the series Orange Is the New Black in 2014 . She played the role of the activist in over 40 episodes up to 2017.
Glenn has appeared in guest roles in the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Seriously Distracted , Broad City , High Maintenance , Sofia the First - Suddenly Princess . In addition, she regularly lends characters from animation and cartoon series the voice in the English original. For example from 2017 to 2018 for Ezor in Voltron: Legendary defender , as Lena in the new edition of Duck Tales or the mouse Stephanie Stilton in BoJack Horseman .
In 2018 Glenn appeared again as Nikki in the series The Guest Book . She also voiced the character of Peni Parker in the movie Spider-Man: A New Universe .
