Kevin Feige [ faɪɡi ] (* 2. June 1973 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American film producer , who above all numerous Marvel - comic book movies produced. Measured by the box office income of his films, he is still the most successful film producer in the world today.

Life

Feige grew up in Westfield , New Jersey .

During his studies at the University of Southern California Feige did an internship with the film producer Lauren Shuler Donner , who hired him as an assistant after graduation. He supported Donner on projects such as Volcano (1997) and Em @ il für Dich (1998).

From 2000 he worked as a producer at Marvel Studios . As an associate producer for the film X-Men , he took on his first project in the same year. As executive producer he was involved in the making of the comic adaptations Hulk (2003), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Fantastic Four (2005) and X-Men: The Last Resistance (2006). In 2007, Feige became President of Production at Marvel Studios.

In the following years he established the so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe with the production of films such as Iron Man , The Incredible Hulk , Iron Man 2 , Thor , Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel's The Avengers . This includes 23 films in 2019 and is the most successful film series of all time with grossing over 22.4 billion US dollars.

Marvel's The Avengers grossed more than $ 1.5 billion worldwide. This puts the film produced by Feige in sixth place among the most financially successful films of all time . In October 2019, Feige was promoted from the position of President of Marvel Studios to Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment . This promotion also gives him the creative direction of Marvel Comics , Marvel Television and Marvel Animation .

Feige is married and has one daughter.
