Yorgos Mavropsaridis
Yorgos Mavropsaridis ( Greek Γιώργος Μαυροψαρίδης Giorgos Mavropsaridis , * 1954 ) is a Greek film editor .
Life
Mavropsaridis has been an editor since the early 1980s. His work includes more than 70 productions, including some short films. Prior to that, he trained in Athens in the mid-1970s and studied at the London Film School.
In 1985 and 2003 he won an award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival .
Mavropsaridis was responsible for the film editing of almost all productions by director Giorgos Lanthimos . Their cooperation goes back to their time together in the field of advertising. In 2005 they made their first joint feature film with Kinetta .
He was nominated for an Oscar in 2019 for The Favorite and was awarded the European Film Prize 2019 in the Best Editing category.
