Frank Marshall (born September 13, 1946 in Los Angeles ) is an American film producer , film director and actor . He is the brother of the film composer Phil Marshall and son of the composer Jack Marshall .

Life

Marshall directed the 1990 film Arachnophobia , Survival! from 1993 and Congo from 1995. For the last film he was nominated for the " Golden Raspberry ".

Frank Marshall is married to the film producer Kathleen Kennedy . Together with his wife and Steven Spielberg , he founded in 1982 company Amblin Entertainment , one of the best known production companies in Hollywood . In 1992, he and his wife founded the production company The Kennedy / Marshall Company , which produces films outside of Amblin Entertainment. In 2018 they received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award .

As an actor, Marshall took on minor supporting roles, including a. in the feature film Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark . He also worked in various functions on several films, including a. as production assistant on the film Is' what, Doc? from 1972.
