David Rabinowitz
David Rabinowitz (* 1987 or 1988 in East Brunswick ) is an American screenwriter and film producer . As a co- writer on Spike Lee's film BlacKkKlansman , Wachtel received the award for best screenplay at the 2019 Academy Awards .
Life
Originally from New Jersey, David Rabinowitz graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden . After working as a producer of multimedia content for the Wall Street Journal , he began working as an editor.
He has a long friendship with Charlie Wachtel , with whom Rabinowitz worked on the script for BlacKkKlansman by Spike Lee . They both graduated from East Brunswick High School in 2005 and both attended American University and Quinnipiac University, where they graduated in 2009. After Wachtel moved to Los Angeles in 2009, Rabinowitz followed him in 2012. They first heard about Ron Stallworth's story, which is told in the film, in July 2015 on Facebook.
