Samuel Hadida

Samuel Hadida (born December 17, 1953 in Casablanca , Morocco , † November 26, 2018 in Santa Monica , California , United States ) was a French distributor and film producer .

Life

He attended the recognized film school Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographiques (IDHEC) in Paris. In 1978 he founded the distribution company Metropolitan Filmexport with his brother Victor and father David , which he expanded in 1982 to include the video distributor Delta Video . The company has become one of the most successful independent film distributors of English-language films in the French-speaking area.

In 1990 he founded with his brother Davis Films , a film production company that successfully realizes or co-produces international projects. The first own production True Romance from 1993 was already extremely successful, so that up to now about 30 productions have been realized, e.g. B. Crying Freeman (1995).

In 2006, Samuel Hadida produced the video game adaptation Silent Hill . In the same year he produced the film Resident Evil: Extinction with Bernd Eichinger . Other productions followed, including other films from the Residen Evil series. His work includes around 70 films.
