Steve Boeddeker

Steven J. Boeddeker (born 1966 or 1967) is an American sound engineer .

Steve Boeddeker began his career in 1995 as assistant to Kim B. Christensen , Ren Klyce and Jennifer L. Ware in the sound editing of Sieben . As early as 1996, he was responsible for sound editing in films such as The Frighteners , Contact or Armageddon - The Last Judgment and was assistant in the sound design of films such as Mars Attacks! . The horse whisperer was his first sound designer in 1998. Since 2000 he has been nominated several times for Motion Picture Sound Editors prizes without ever being able to win it: 2000 for Fight Club , 2001 for X-Men , 2002 for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider , 2006 for Corpse Bride - as well as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , 2010 for Coraline , 2011 for Tron: Legacy , 2013 for ParaNorman , Marvel's The Avengers and Hemingway & Gellhorn and 2014 for All Is Lost . For All is Lost , Boeddeker was also nominated for the Oscar , the BAFTA Award and the Satellite Award in 2014 , but lost to the Gravity sound team . Boeddeker's only win in a competition was the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards when he was awarded for Hemingway & Gellhorn .

Boeddeker has now worked in more than 80 films and television productions, including several times as a musician and composer.
