Marvel One-Shot

Marvel One-Shot , also known as the Marvel Setting , is a series of direct-to-video short film adaptations starring SHIELD agents , which are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and can be found on the Blu-rays of the movies are. There are currently five films released.
The first two short films were released in Germany under the name Marvel Setting . The original name has been used since the third short film. All short films are only available in English, the Blu-rays have subtitles in German.

In May 2015 it was announced that there are currently no plans to release any new Marvel One-Shots.

In July 2019, it was announced that some of the scenes cut from the film Spider-Man: Far From Home , most of which deal with Peter Parker's preparations for his European trip, will be available as a separate short film called "Peter's To-Do List" digitally and on the Blu-ray to be released.

The Consultant (2011)

Agent Phil Coulson and Agent Sitwell talk about the Avenger Initiative - the UN Security Council demands that Abomination be part of the team. Nick Fury does not want this, but cannot refuse a direct order. The two agents come up with a plan. They send Tony Stark to see General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (featured in the final scene of The Incredible Hulk ) in the hope that the deal will go through because Tony and Thunderbolt don't like each other and they abuse each other. Their plan succeeds and Thunderbolt Ross refuses to send Abomination to the Avengers.

Something Funny Happened on the Road to Thor's Hammer (2011)

Agent Phil Coulson is on his way to Thor's hammer. He wants to buy a snack at a gas station while the gas station is attacked by two gangsters. They want Phil's car keys, which he gives them. He also gives them his gun. Immediately afterwards he throws flour at them and attacks immediately afterwards. He turns off both gangsters. He pays at the cash register and drives on.

Object 47 (2012)

The couple Bennie and Claire found an alien weapon from Marvel's The Avengers and Bennie repaired it. They used this weapon to carry out several bank robberies. SHIELD sends Agent Sitwell to secure the gun and neutralize the two. A fight ensues in a motel in which Sitwell defeats the two. Sitwell explains to the two that a total of 47 objects from the aliens were recovered and that all but this one are defective. When Sitwell learns that Bennie was able to fix the gun, he hires the two of them at SHIELD.

Agent Carter (2013)

Agent Carter begins the crash scene from the movie Captain America - The First Avenger . The main plot takes place a year after the events of this film. The war is over. Peggy Carter is part of a security agency, the SSR , and is the only woman there. The other employees and her boss Flynn do not take her for full, so that, since her transfer three months ago, she has not been allowed to do any external assignments. When she is alone in the office and learns where to find Zodiac, she sets off on her own. She defeats several men and retakes Zodiac. The next day Flynn wants to punish her for her behavior, but he receives a call from Howard Stark. Stark informs him that Carter will come to Washington and lead the SHIELD organization with him. Flynn reluctantly informs Carter that she will head SHIELD in the future.

The Mandarin (2014)

In The Mandarin is shown as it is with Trevor for Iron Man 3 continues. Trevor is in prison and is worshiped by some of his fellow inmates. One has even become his butler. When other inmates try to kill Trevor, his fan club protects him. Trevor is visited by a journalist who does a long series of interviews with him. Today's, final, interview is about who Trevor really is. The journalist shows that Trevor was unsuccessful in his entire life until he played the mandarin. Towards the end of the interview it becomes clear that the journalist is a member of the "Ten Rings" and works for the real Mandarin. And this mandarin wants to meet Trevor. The one-shot ends with Trevor's kidnapping from prison.

In a scene after the credits it is shown that Justin Hammer is also in this prison. Justin Hammer is jealous of Trevor for believing his combat robots would have been a much greater threat.

Details of the films

Some roles only appear as a review. In the advisor they are Robert Downey junior ( Tony Stark / Iron Man ) and William Hurt (Lieutenant General Thaddeus Ross), in Agent Carter Chris Evans ( Captain America ).

Since the short films are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe , they can also be specifically classified in the timeline. Every short film takes up the film to which it refers in its plot, at least briefly.

The short films are part of the bonus material of the Blu-ray versions of the Marvel films (only Agent Carter was also part of the bonus material of the double DVD steelbooks).
