List of Abbots of the St. Emmeram Monastery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of rulers of the Sankt Emmeram monastery includes the first 13 bishops of Regensburg , to whom the monastery was also subordinate as “owners” from 739 to 975, then 55 or 54 “independent” abbots - including Pabo with two terms in office - in the years 975 until 1725 and from 1725 to 1802 four prince abbots who enjoyed imperial immediacy . In December 1802 the prince abbey was ceded to the Imperial Arch Chancellor Karl Theodor von Dalberg . In 1810 the monastery was ceded to the Kingdom of Bavaria and with it the abbey was abolished, but this lasted until 1813.
