Marvel's Iron Fist , also known as Iron Fist , is an American television series based on the characters from the Marvel comic book of the same name . It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is the fourth of four Netflix series that eventually led to a crossover series called Marvel's The Defenders . The title role of Daniel Rand / Iron Fist is played by Finn Jones .

All 13 episodes of the first season were released simultaneously on March 17, 2017 by Netflix in both the USA and German-speaking countries. In July 2017 it was announced that a second season of the series had been ordered. This was published on September 7, 2018.

In October 2018, Netflix discontinued the series after two seasons.

15 years after a plane crash in China in which his parents died, Danny Rand, believed to be dead, returns to New York . With the help of lawyer Jeri Hogarth, he takes on his multi-billion dollar family inheritance.

His father's company is now run by siblings Joy and Ward Meachum, whose father Harold Meachum set up Rand Enterprises with Danny's father, but then died of cancer.

After the plane crash, the then ten year old Danny was taken in by monks and initiated into the secret martial arts techniques in K'un-L'un . At the end of his apprenticeship in K'un-L'un, he had to pass an exam to gain the power of the Iron Fist .

In K'un-L'un he had the task of guarding the gates or the entrance of the secret city. But he noticed an inner emptiness and not his intended purpose in himself. For this reason he left K'un-L'un and returned to New York.

There he uses his special abilities to clear up the death of his parents, to take revenge and generally to ensure more justice . He is supported by the martial arts teacher Colleen Wing and in the first season by the nurse Claire Temple.

In October 2013, Marvel announced that it would produce four series and a miniseries with a total of 60 episodes for video-on-demand providers, with Netflix , WGN America and Amazon showing interest. In the following month, Marvel and Disney announced that, in addition to Marvel's Iron Fist, they were producing the series Marvel's Daredevil , Marvel's Jessica Jones , Marvel's Luke Cage and the miniseries Marvel's The Defenders , in which the title characters of the four series meet, for the streaming portal Netflix become. Daniel "Danny" Rand / Iron Fist

The son of the businessman Wendell Rand was missing after a joint plane crash with his parents and pronounced dead. 15 years later he suddenly appears in New York and wants to recapture the family legacy, his father's company. Ward Meachum

Ward Meachum is Harold Meachum's son. After the death of his father, he and his sister Joy Meachum run Rand Enterprises. He is guided and controlled by his father, who hides from the rest of the world.

Joy Meachum

Davos is the son of Lei Kung, a member of the Crane Mother order. As a kid, Davos always wanted to become the Iron Fist and he trained hard to achieve that goal. During his training, he became Danny's best friend. But after a short time Davos became jealous because Danny received the Iron Fist and he didn't. When he notices how Danny has changed in New York, he turns against his old friend.

15 years after a plane crash in which he and his parents were pronounced dead, Danny Rand returns to New York and visits the technology company Rand Enterprises founded by his parents , which was then taken over by his parents' former boyfriend, Harold Meachum has been. At Joy's house, Danny tries to renew their friendship, but leaves disappointed when Joy presents him with a document promising him 100 million dollars on condition that he change his name. Danny then visits lawyer Jeri Hogarth, who used to work for Rand and now manages the family's estate. She agrees to support Danny and gives him a suite to stay with. On Harold's orders, Ward is supposed to buy a pier and uses Joy's help, who doesn't even know that her father is still alive. At the same time, Harold is visited by a woman who does not reveal herself, but forces him to kneel in broken glass as punishment for leaving his penthouse. Meanwhile, in Colleen's Dōjō, Danny watches students practice, one of whom makes fun of him. He then wakes up in the penthouse in the presence of Ward and Harold, the latter of whom greets him happily and explains why he is still alive. Danny then visits Colleen in her dojo, where nurse Claire Temple is training, and tries to persuade her to help him investigate the pier. After a meal together, Colleen reluctantly agrees to accompany Danny, but only when he reveals to her that he has bought her building and is now her landlord. At the pier, the two finally observe how three containers are opened, but without any suspicious contents. To get a closer look, Danny sneaks into one of the containers and comes across a built-in wall with a door behind some boxes. While the truck with the container is moving, Danny opens the door and finds a comfortably furnished room with two people, one of whom identifies himself as a chemist and the other attacks him. In a fight, Danny can defeat the latter, even if he stabs the chemist in the chest with a knife. To Danny's horror, Colleen confirms Gao's statement, but tries to appease him by describing Gao only as a criminal faction of the "Hand" and alleging that Danny demonized "The Hand" only because of his indoctrination in K'un-Lun. Via Danny's phone call, Bakuto locates Harold's penthouse and offers him to go public again when he visits. At night Danny finds the monitoring center of the "hand" in another building and is confronted there by Bakuto, whom he knocks out after a duel. In the fight against several guards, Danny receives unexpected help from Davos, a friend from K'un-Lun, with whom he gets to the exit gate of the facility. In search of Danny, Colleen stops by Claire and shows remorse for keeping the truth from them. On the roof, Colleen meets Danny and tries to convince him that the part of the "hand" she belongs to is picking up helpless teenagers and giving them a chance. Danny is not deterred by this and confirms his plan to destroy "The Hand". In the penthouse, Danny discusses the plan against "Die Hand" with Harold and Joy and they decide to close Bakuto's secret accounts within Rand in order to lure him away from the headquarters of the "Hand". Meanwhile, Colleen wants to get antibiotics for Danny through a member of the "Hand" working in the hospital, but is betrayed by the latter to Bakuto because she has disregarded his instructions to inform him about Danny's whereabouts. Ward receives a visit from Bakuto at the mental hospital, who promises to eliminate Harold and helps him escape from the clinic. With Colleen's insight that he misjudged Bakuto and “Die Hand”, Danny gets on with her again, even if Davos continues to see Colleen as an enemy. After Ward meets Joy and Harold in the penthouse and tries unsuccessfully to convince the former of their father's malice, he draws a gun and forces Joy to come with him. At the elevator, Ward is intercepted by Bakuto and his entourage, who first kill Harold's guards and then threaten to behead him. Bakuto video calls Danny shooting at Joy and instructs him to come over. Danny obeys this and lets himself be captured in the penthouse, but thanks to the Iron Fist he can free himself from his handcuffs in the foyer and eliminate Bakuto's henchmen together with Colleen and Davos. Bakuto escapes into the open, where the trio catches him and lets Danny Colleen go first to fight a sword duel with her Sensei. In the end, Colleen manages to ram her sword into Bakuto's stomach, but refuses to comply with Davos' request to kill him. When Davos then stabbed Bakuto in the chest with a knife, Danny criticized his unscrupulousness in murdering people, and a fight ensued between the two, from which Danny emerged victorious. Danny prevents himself from hurting Davos with the Iron Fist and lets him go before he and Colleen find out that Bakuto is missing. While Harold and Ward bring Joy to the hospital, Danny returns to the dojo with Colleen and calls Harold to inform him of what has happened. The next morning Danny receives a cell phone message from Ward during his training, in which the latter warns him of a trap Harold, and in the next moment, forces of the drug authorities storm the dojo. Danny and Colleen put them out of action and flee.

While Ward suspects that Harold has put Danny on the heroin business within Rand, Danny, on Hogarth's advice, tries to find the unadulterated documents from Rand to prove his innocence. To do this, he first seeks Madame Gao in the now abandoned training camp of "Hand", where she not only explains to Danny that the tablet, which is in Harold's possession, contains all the important data, but also that it was Harold who caused the plane crash initiated at the time to prevent Danny's father from discovering Harold's secretly built heroin production facility in Anzhou. The weakened Joy insinuates that her father is responsible for Danny's predicament, which he denies. Ward teams up with Danny and calls him from the edge building, but is knocked unconscious by Harold. Danny then storms into the edge building and after a surprise attack through the window he can take care of all the guards with the help of Colleen who has succeeded him. When Harold points his pistol at Colleen, Danny devastates the floor with the Iron Fist and forces Harold to escape to the roof, where he is shot in the hand. Danny manages to knock his pistol away from Harold, and when Harold then attacks him with an iron rod, Danny pushes him back so that he is pierced by a steel pipe. In Danny's back, Harold grabs his pistol again, but is shot several times by the rushing Ward, so that he falls from the building. By recovering the tablet, Hogarth proves Danny's innocence, and Ward has Harold's body cremated for its ultimate death. In France, Joy finally talks to Davos about his plans to kill Danny, and Madame Gao overhears them. Danny travels to K'un-Lun with Colleen, but after he comes across four dead fighters of the "Hand" in the snowy mountains, he finds at the gate to K'un-Lun that the latter has disappeared.
On March 17, 2017, all episodes of the season were released simultaneously on Netflix.
