Rachel Talalay

Rachel Talalay (born August 16, 1958 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American film director , producer and screenwriter .

Life

Talalay received her PhD from Yale University and worked as a computer analyst in Baltimore . In 1981 she entered the film business as a production assistant (for the film Polyester by John Waters ).

In 1985 she worked as a production manager for the horror film Nightmare II - Die Rache and as line producer for Nightmare III - Freddy Krueger is alive . She wrote the script and directed for Freddy's Finale - Nightmare on Elm Street 6 (1991) . In 1993 she produced the series Space Rangers , which was discontinued after six episodes. In 1997 she was involved as a producer on the film Ein Fall für die Borger .

In 1995 she directed the comic book adaptation Tank Girl . Since then, Rachel Talalay has mostly directed television series such as Without a Trace , Ally McBeal , Dead Zone , Supernatural and Doctor Who . In 2016 she directed an episode of the Sherlock series with Sherlock - The Six Thatchers . In total, her work as a director includes more than 50 film and television productions.

In 2007 and 2010 she received the Leo Award for her work .

Talalay is married to the film producer Rupert Harvey and has two children.
