Nightmare II is a horror film from 1985 and the second part of the Nightmare series. In contrast to the first part, it was not directed by Wes Craven , but under the direction of Jack Sholder .
action
It's been five years since Nancy Thompson won her last fight against Freddy Krueger in the creepy house on Elm Street. The Walsh family now move into 1428 Elm Street and 17 year old Jesse is immediately plagued by terrible nightmares. He teams up with his girlfriend Lisa to fight evil together. Freddy takes possession of Jesse and kills his best friend and some pool party guests at Lisa's party. Lisa's father wants to shoot Freddy, but Lisa stops him.
Freddy escapes and Lisa pursues him. She tells Jesse that she loves him, which gives him new strength and eventually wins the fight against Freddy.

Reviews
The lexicon of international films criticized that the film "shamelessly exploits the set pieces of the horror film genre". Due to his "undecided staging" he takes care of "involuntary comedy".
Award
The film received a nomination for best horror film at the 1986 Saturn Awards ceremony .

- When Jesse Walsh, played by actor Mark Patton , tidies up his messy teenage room, he plays a cassette with the song Touch Me (All Night Long) by Wish & Fonda Rae from 1984 on his tape recorder, a typical synthpop song of the 1980s . In the scene in which Lisa Webber's parents turn off the light in their bedroom and the teenagers outside by the swimming pool turn up the stereo system, the 1985 song Whisper To A Scream by the duo Bobby Orlando and Claudja Barry can be heard at this nightly party . At the end of the film, during the credits, in contrast to the gloomy mood of the plot, the song Did You Ever See a Dream Walking? from 1933 in the interpretation of the singer Bing Crosby .
