Declan de Barra

Declan de Barra (born May 6, 1971 in Bonmahon, County Waterford , Ireland ) is a singer and songwriter and former member of the band Clann Zú .

De Barra emigrated to Australia in the 1980s , where he toured for several years with his band Non Intentional Lifeform . In 1999 he founded Clann Zú. He moved back to Ireland in 2002 and soon became part of the local music scene. Since the end of Clann Zú he has been working as a solo artist. His music is very much characterized by traditional Irish influences. When recording his album Song of a Thousand Birds he was supported by some former bandmates as well as other Irish musicians. He contributed the song Not To Love You to the soundtrack of the film LOL (Laughing Out Loud) together with the French musician Maïdi Roth .
