Iron man
Iron Man (German: "Eisenmann", in the first German publications "Der Eiserne") is a cartoon character from Marvel Comics . It was created by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber and the draftsmen Don Heck and Jack Kirby . Her first appearance was in the comic Tales of Suspense # 39 in March 1963. In 1968 she received her own series called Iron Man , which continued until 1996. Iron Man's armor is red and gold and equipped with the latest technology, such as laser beams.
characterization
Iron Man is the alter ego of multi-billionaire Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark. He takes over the family business Stark Industries after his parents are killed in a car accident. Stark Industries is a technology group that develops weapons systems on behalf of the US government, among others.
During a presentation of his inventions, which were used in the Vietnam War , Stark was injured in a bomb explosion and captured by the North Vietnamese. Three shrapnel injured him very close to his heart. The warlord Wong-Chu promises to be released if Stark works for the North Vietnamese.
Together with the also captive Nobel Prize winner for physics, Ho Yinsen, Stark develops his first Iron Man armor ( Mark One ), a heavily armored exoskeleton . On the one hand, this gives Stark great fighting power; on the other hand, it is vital for him, as it holds back the metal splinters in his body with a built-in electromagnet and allows him to escape from the camp. He is saved by his friend James Rhodes . Back in the United States , Tony Stark poses Iron Man as his bodyguard and lives two identities.
While Iron Man fought mainly against communist opponents, corrupt business competitors or terrorist organizations like Hydra and especially AIM ( A dvanced I dea M echanic), who are interested in Stark technology, especially in Iron Man armor, in the first few years Stark got back from the arms business through his experience in Vietnam and started developing the ARK reactor as a clean, alternative energy source to counter wars over dwindling raw materials. He founds various charities, such as the Maria Stark Foundation named after his mother. Since then, Tony Stark has been considered a philanthropist . Iron Man is a founding member of the Avengers ( Avengers ). Over the years he has provided accommodation, the Avengers headquarters, to this association of superheroes.
Tony Stark is a tech-savvy and inventive businessman. At the same time, he also has personal problems, such as his persistent narcissism and his God complex , as well as health problems such as palladium poisoning from the Ark reactor in his chest, which keeps the shrapnel away from his heart. This poisoning even forces him to temporarily put down his Iron Man armor. It is then worn by his friend James Rhodes. Rhodes later gets his own armor with Iron Man technology and becomes a superhero called War Machine , who fights alongside Tony Stark. Tony can fight again as Iron Man because he discovers a "new" element through his dead father. This enables him to wear the armor without any further health problems.

From 1968, when the series was renamed Captain America , it appeared in Iron Man and Sub-Mariner and got its own series called The Invincible Iron Man . By 1996 this had reached 332 issues. In addition, special issues with Iron Man appeared. After 1996 he appeared in shorter series such as Iron Man: The Iron Age and Iron Man: Bad Blood . Film adaptations
In 2007, as part of the success of Ultimate Avengers - The Movie, the prequel The Invincible Iron Man appeared , which renewed the creation of the hero. In May 2008, the real-life version of the story was released by Marvel Enterprises .
