Anthony and Joe Russo

The brothers Anthony J. Russo (born February 3, 1970 in Cleveland , Ohio ) and Joseph Vincent "Joe" Russo (born July 18, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio), also known as the Russo Brothers , are American film directors and screenwriters and film producers.

Life

Together they directed films such as Me, You and the Other (2006) and The Return of the First Avenger (2014). They also worked on various television series, including Arrested Development , What About Brian , Community, and Happy Endings . Further directorial work as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe followed: The First Avenger: Civil War premiered in April 2016, followed by Avengers: Infinity War in 2018 and Avengers: Endgame in 2019 .

The brothers won an Emmy in 2004 for their work on the pilot of the Arrested Development series . At the end of June 2017, they also became members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
