Jonathan "Jon" Favreau (born October 19, 1966 in Queens , New York City ) is an American actor , producer and director .

life and work

Jon Favreau attended the Bronx High School of Science and then Queens College . After graduating, Favreau worked on Wall Street before deciding to make his living as a stand-up comedian in Chicago. There he joined the comedy group ImprovOlympic , which also included Chris Farley and Mike Myers .

He had his first major film role in 1993 in Touchdown - His goal is to win . A year later he starred on the side of Jeremy Piven in the comedy PCU . After filming Mrs. Parker and her vicious circle , Jon Favreau went to Los Angeles. There he wrote the script for Swingers . Released in 1996, the film earned him and director Doug Liman the Florida Film Critics Circle Award for Best Newcomer . Jon's friend Vince Vaughn also made his breakthrough with Swingers .
