Ansgar Frerich (* 1977 in Paderborn ) is an Oscar-nominated German film producer , sound mixer, managing director and cultural worker .

Life

Ansgar Frerich lived in Elsen until he was 6 years old and then moved to Schloss Neuhaus , where he passed his Abitur in 1997 at the Schloss Neuhaus grammar school . After the civil service in 1998, he acquired his first professional experience in the marketing department of Siemens -Firmenniederlassung in Paderborn. There he came into contact with film scoring . He completed his training as a media designer for picture and sound at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, where he set his first short and feature films to music. In 2002 he moved to Berlin, where he opened a small recording studio. From this Hörwerk Frerich & Beck GbR the studio DIE BASISberlin Postproduktions GmbH emerged in 2007 , of which he is the managing director and creative director today. Together with his co-partners Florian Beck and Tobias Siebert and eight other employees, he works there in the fields of sound design , mixing and production. Since 2010 he has also been a partner in BASISberlin Medien GmbH .

Ansgar Frerich is a member of the European Film Academy , the German Film Academy and the Film Sound Professional Association (BVFT) . In 2019 he received an invitation to membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscar .
