Bastian Günther

Bastian Günther (born September 3, 1974 in Hachenburg in the Westerwald ) is a German director .

During a teacher training course from 1996 to 2000 at the University of Cologne with the subjects English, social sciences and sport, he initially worked as a freelancer at WDR and Phoenix . In 2000 he began studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb), which he graduated in 2005. His film Autopiloten premiered in the category Perspektive Deutsches Kino 2007 at the Berlinale 2007 . Günther assisted Marin Martschewski and Christian Petzold . Since 1999 he has been a member of the Kölner Filmhaus .
