California City is an American-German documentary with fictional elements by Bastian Günther from 2014.
The film follows a man on his way through California City in the Antelope Valley , in California's Mojave Desert . The planned town , founded in 1965, has become a ghost settlement after the real estate crisis.
California City was nominated for the German Film Critics Award 2016 as “Best Documentary” and in the preselection of the German Film Award 2016 as “Best Feature Film”.
