Marianne Farley

Marianne Farley (* Marianne Thérien in Montreal , Quebec ) is a Canadian actress best known for her roles as Gem Whitman in Imaginaerum by Nightwish ( Imaginaerum ), Nicole Breen in This Life , Dillan Vanderson in Vampire High, and Stella & Nancy in The Intruder .

Life

Farley grew up in Quebec . She grew up bilingual (English and French). Her family is a family of artists who are particularly dedicated to music. Therefore Faley began to sing himself very early. At the age of 19, Farley released her first single, Histoire sans prénom, and her own album. Some of the songs made it into the Canadian Top 10. Farley later decided to become an actress. She took part in various workshops and learned to act.

In 1999 Farley played Stella and Nancy Brooke in The Intruder . In 2002 Farley got the lead role of Dillan Vanderson in the Canadian television series Vampire High . She replaced Meghan Ory , who had previously played the lead role. Farley dyed her hair red for the role. Since the series was canceled, Farley was only seen six episodes in the series.

In 2014 Farley got a role in Uvanga , a film about the Inuit . From 2014 to 2015, Farley played Judith Laramée in the TV series Mémoires vives from Radio-Canada . In 2015, she played with Julia, the wife of one of the main characters, in the TV series Heroes Reborn . From 2015 to 2016 Farley starred as Nicole Breen on the television series This Life . Farley later said that she loved to play Nicole because the character was very complex and showed many different character traits.

Farley also worked as a producer, director and screenwriter. In 2015 she directed the short film Saccage . In 2017 she wrote the screenplay for the film Marguerite , which she also directed. For this she was nominated for an Oscar in 2019 .
