Roger Guyett

Roger J. Guyett (* 1961 in Aldershot , Great Britain ) is a VFX Supervisor who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2005, 2010, 2014 and 2016 .

Life

He grew up in the UK and started his career working in London in the post production of commercials and television shows. He then moved to California and started working at Pacific Data Images , which is now part of Dreamworks . In 1994 he moved to Industrial Light & Magic , where his first project was the animation of the Casper ghost in the film Casper . Films such as DragonHeart , Saving Private Ryan , Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Tears of the Sun followed in the following years . Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban , he received his first nomination for the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects .

In 2005 he was a VFX supervisor and a supporting role in the science fiction film Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith . For the film Star Trek , for which he worked as VFX supervisor and second-unit director, he was nominated a second time for the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2010 .

He received his third Oscar nomination in 2014 for Star Trek Into Darkness . Even with Star Wars: The Awakening of Power (2015) was responsible for the visual effects Guyett, which earned him his fourth Oscar nomination.
