Yalitza Aparicio Martínez (born December 11, 1993 in Heroica Ciudad de Tlaxiaco , Oaxaca ) is a Mexican film actress .

Life

Mixtekin, born in 1993, got her first film role in the drama Roma directed by Alfonso Cuarón , in which she can be seen in the lead role of Cleo, the domestic servant. For this achievement, she was nominated for a number of film awards, including an Oscar for Best Actress .

Before her film career, Yalitza Aparicio worked as a preschool teacher and was training to become a kindergarten teacher.

At the end of June 2020, Yalitza Aparicio became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
