Craig Zadan

Craig Zadan (born April 15, 1949 in Miami , Florida - † August 20, 2018 ) was an American film producer . In addition to numerous films, he also produced the Oscar awards in 2013 , 2014 and 2015 . Together with Neil Meron , he founded the production company Storyline Entertainment .

Life

His family moved to Brooklyn when he was two years old . Initially, Zadan worked for New York Magazine and wrote articles for After Dark , among other things . In the 1970s he made the acquaintance of Neil Meron in New York. Both worked for three years at Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival . In 1979 Zadan moved to Los Angeles and Meron followed him a year later. Together they finally founded Storyline Entertainment in 1980 and have been producing for cinema and television ever since. They also brought various musicals onto television such as Cinderella (1997), Annie (1999) and The Music Man (2003).
