Marina de Tavira (* 1974 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican actress who has worked in three Mexican film productions that have already been shown in German-speaking countries: La Zona - No Trespassing , The Path to Fame and Five Days Without Nora . She also played in several telenovelas , including one of the leading actresses in all 26 episodes of the successful series SOS: Sexo y otros secretos ( Spanish for sex and other secrets ).

Life

Marina de Tavira Servitje, as her full name is called, was already interested in acting in her childhood and emulated her uncle Luis de Tavira, who works as a theater director. She completed her acting studies at the casa del teatro de la plaza de la Conchita in Coyoacán .

She began her acting career in the theater, as an actress also prefers to act on stage and had her first role after graduating in the play Feliz nuevo siglo Doktor Freud .

In 1998 she played for the first time in a telenovela with the title Tentaciones and in 1999 in the short film Viajando sobre los durmientes .

She made her debut in a feature film in 2005 in Hijas de su madre: Las Buenrostro . She was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role in Alfonso Cuarón's drama Roma (2018) .

She is the granddaughter of the Mexican entrepreneur Lorenzo Servitje, who started Grupo Bimbo .
