Tyler Perry (* 13. September 1969 in New Orleans , Louisiana as Emmitt Perry Jr. ) is an American actor , film and television director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Perry enjoys enormous popularity in the USA through his films, especially the series Meet the Browns . He became known for the portrayal of the character Madea , who Perry has played in several films since 2005. 2011, called him Forbes magazine with an income of 130 million US dollars between May 2010 and 2011 the highest paid artists in the entertainment industry.

As a director, actor, screenwriter and producer he works for television as well as for cinema.

Perry has been nominated for numerous awards and received the 2011 NAACP Image Award . The year before he received the Chairman's Award.

On October 1, 2019, he received a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood .
