The New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic 2019 was the 79th New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic and took place on January 1, 2019 at the Wiener Musikverein . Christian Thielemann stood at the conductor's podium for the first time .

The intermission film for the New Year's Concert 2019 entitled Wiener Staatsoper 1869 - 2019 was designed by Felix Breisach . In it, ensembles of the Vienna Philharmonic and ensemble members of the State Opera played at various locations in and around the building opened by Franz Joseph I in 1869 , including Camilla Nylund and Adrian Eröd with a duet from the bat and Daniela Fally and Rafael Fingerlos as Papagena and Papageno.
