Jenni Elina Haukio (born April 7, 1977 in Pori , Finland ) is a Finnish poet and writer .

Haukio graduated from Turku University in 2001 with a degree in political science .

Jenni Haukio has published three volumes of poetry. In 1999 her Début Paitasi on pujahtanut ylleni (Your shirt glides over me) appeared, with which she won the Runo-Kaarina competition. Her last collection of poems, Sinä kuulet sen soiton (You hear the music), was published in 2009 by Savukeidas Kustannus . Nothing of this is available in German. In 2017 Haukio published the anthology Katso pohjoista taivasta with 367 poems by 160 Finnish authors.

She was press chief of the conservative National Collection Party .

Haukio carries the Estonian Order of the Marienland Cross (2014).

She has been married to Sauli Niinistö , President of the Republic of Finland since March 2012 , since 2009 . On February 2, 2018, their first child, a boy, was born.

Niinistö had been widowed since 1995 after his first wife was killed in a traffic accident.
