Order of the Marienland Cross
The Order of the Marian Cross ( Estonian Maarjamaa Risti teenetemärk ) is a state award of the Republic of Estonia , which is given to foreign citizens for outstanding service to the Republic of Estonia. The order was established in 1995 in honor of Estonia's independence. The Order of the Marienland Cross is awarded by the Estonian President .
Categories
The Order of the Marienland Cross is awarded in six categories:
- the special category: Collane of the Order of the Marienland Cross
- five basic categories: Order of the Marienland Cross of the 1st to 5th category
The individual categories differ only in the ribbons on which the medal is attached. The medal itself is the same size and design in all categories. In categories 1 to 3 there is a version for female dignitaries, which is equipped with a narrower band.
